Precision Training

Ogden Lindsley, the creator of Precision Training (PT) said the he wanted to “put the science back into learning”. Through the application of behavioural science in training, PT enables participants to rapidly increase learning, through the development of fluency within the subject.
The emphasis on the development of fluency (the ability to both quickly and accurately recall information) ensures that participants can easily recall information, enabling them to retain this information over a much longer period.
PT enables participants to collect data on their learning progress throughout the program enabling the trainer to identify at any point exactly how the participant is doing, rather than waiting for an exam at the end of the program to identify their progress.
3 Simple Rules works with organisations to develop new or de-design existing training programs.
Overall PT offers organisations:
– Accelerated Learning & Reduced investment in training time
Our most recent work reduced a training program from 5 full days down to 3 – 1/2 days, a time saving of 70% or 28 hours per attendee.
– Data on each individuals learning progress During and after the training session we have attendees plot their own progress. This data allows us to confirm that knowledge transfer is occuring and being maintained. The results displayed on a Standard Celeration Chart. While these charts seem complicated we haven’t had a course attendee yet who hasn’t mastered them in just a few short minutes. – Data on the effectiveness of the overall training program
We gather data throughout a training course. We baseline the attendees knowledge before and after the sessions. This data proves that the training has had an impact of the attendees knowledge. A typical results can be seen in this boxplot. Notice that the bottom score of the wisker in the post test is as high as the median of the pretest. The whole group has increased their knowledge.
